The Angle Wright Miter Guide was designed to provide extremely accurate settings for the three most common cuts made on a table saw, +45º, 90º, -45º.
The width of the miter guide slot on table saws are not all the same. Although this tool has three plastic adjustment screws to prevent excessive side play, in most cases these screws are not needed because the bars are carefully ground to size. If it is necessary to use these plastic screws to prevent side play, the screws should only be extended the minimum amount necessary to prevent the bar from being loose in the slot. Any further extension will make it more difficult to slide the guide and will simply unnecessarily wear down the screws. Two different bar sizes are ground to be sure that a good fit is provided. One model is made for Delta, Jet, Powermatic and other saws that have the more standard 3/4" wide slot and the other is ground for Sears saws that have a slot 005" narrower.
The head of the miter guide is locked onto the bar with a large brass knurled nut that screws onto a stainless steel screw. The position of the head is controlled with hardened steel dowel pins. Both the dowel pins and the stainless steel screw are pressed into the bar. The dowel pins fit very snugly into brass bushings in the miter guide hard-anodized aluminum head. The bushings used start our manufacturing process undersized. They are then carefully reamed just enough to fit on the pins. This ensures that there is virtually no side play when the head is mounted on the bar in any position.

Two holes have been provided in the face of the miter guide head to allow easy attachment of any extensions that the user wishes to add. The holes are for #10 screws or bolts.
